Maria obtained her BSc and MSc with Dr. Margaret Fahnestock at McMaster University, her PhD with Dr. Peter McPherson at McGill University and her post-doctoral training with Drs. Zhe Liu and Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz at the HHMI Janelia Research Campus. She started her lab at the University of Alberta in May 2019.
